It takes a village

.......... Six sets of hands... 5 hours... catering for 50-70 people. In the midst of a week of friends in the hospital and preparing for life-death transitions...food preparation beckoned. An invitation came to prepare food for the guests of the first annual GARLACTICA (Garlic Festival) in Eden, UT (sandhillfarms.org). Thank you Julie, Joseph, Tabby, Hannah & Leraine for your hands and hearts. Thank you for making it easy and fun! We made pistachio mint pesto farafelle, garlicky braised rainbow chard, festival salad, lemon rosemary vinaigrette and ginger sesame dressing. Today I felt inspired and added a live cheescake with assorted fresh berries marinated in rose nectar, green bean, cannelini and dill salad, herbed fruit salad and mushroom rice. Thanks to Pete for following his inspiration and dedication in creating Sandhill Farms and his intuition to work with me! I am having a great time! Also, thanks to Amanda for the kick bootie projects we are working on..can't wait to show it to ya'll. Thanks to my mom for being an compassionate shoulder to cry on when memories and feelings of being stuck overwhelmed me. I love that we are in synch even though we are far away geographically!
