Imagine being stuck in an airport for over 24 hours and being glad about it (or at least fine with it)? That's what happened to me. Due to funky weather flights at JFK were canceled and well, lets just stay there was a big 'ol slumber party at JFK. :) I made a conscious decision to eat LOTS of salad & fruits & to drink a bit more water. After 4 hours of airport chair sleep I woke up feeling just fine! No achy joints or grumpy foolishness. On a whim, I decided to take "freshening up" in the airport lavatory to another level. I lathered up and scrubbed my face with the soft pads of my finger tips. Then I applied lotion in the same way. I even scrubbed the dry skin from my lips. Enter make-up, gorgeous dangly earrings, perfume oil, a change of clothes & a fabulous up-sweeping hairdo & this sistuh was ALL SET! Yes!
The next 10 hours whizzed by including amazing phone conversations with my mom & best friends, meeting and being of assistance to strangers in the airport and just plane feeling good.
Gotta love a bit of self-care. Self-gifting goes a long way!
