This morning I went bike riding along the Jordan River Parkway w/ a friend. On the way home we had the coolest foodie experience this week! We stopped by
Johnny Kolache (248 West 900 South, Salt Lake City, Utah). First of all, while we were reading a sign describing
what a kolache is (a Czech meat pie) an excited man (Johnny) offered to tell us about the Kolaches first hand! He was such a character and took great pride in his food! He even offered us each a FREE kolache (something he does with all first time visitors)!! As he puts it, "I don't expect people to buy something that's new to them, so I let them try one for free!" Rock on Johnny! So my friend had the Philly cheesteak (and later bought a pulled pork). She loved them both! I had the veggie kolache which was a veggie sausage! Delish! He also makes fruit kolaches. So, when you're hungry for something' good stop by an get 2 kolaches, chips and a drink for $4.99! You won't be sorry! Did I mention that it is about a block away from a TRAX station (900 West stop)? Yepperz people, bike or ride mass transit and get a taste of somethin' unique right here in the city of salt!
