Getting To The Root Of It All

Everyone who knows me well, knows I OFTEN follow my intuition...
I had a feeling that the word FOCUS stood out for me because: 1. I was trying to focus on letters, shapes, lights and so on during the various eye/ brain exams. 2. When my eye wanders off to the side it is difficult for me to focus on what's ahead. 3. (perhaps the most meaningful to me) When I focus on too many external things I miss what's right in front of me, and what's inside of me.

I was CLEAR that I wanted
to get more focused about my life, namely my calling in life.  So I began to mix flower essences (wild oat & white chestnut) into my drinking water.  Three days later I saw a dentist to ask about the headaches & eye irregularity since I once had a wisdom tooth causing pressure on a tumor resting on my optic nerve.  I figured....hey I just want to exhaust every possibility I can think of.  When they took xrays they found that I needed a root canal and one filling replaced.  The estimate for this was $2,600!!!  Which included a $368 bite guard which I the dentist wasn't convinced I needed but wanted to sell me anyway. I left, never intending to return and quickly went for a second opinion.  At dentist #2 I was told that not only was I in need of one root canal, in fact, I was in need of 3!  WHAT?!#@$#   The estimate for this was $4,670 (not including the one filling that needed to be replaced, which was never mentioned).

This was the 3rd time in the last few months that I had an experience with the USA health care system that didn't seem to work so well for those who are not wealthy.  Three loved ones where unable to afford the $220+/mo cost of medicine for diabetes & asthma....mind you, this was WITH health insurance!!  I did not have health insurance and was being asked to pay upwards of $5K.  Come to find out.  The same procedure for s/o with reasonable health insurance would still cost them about $1,500-$3,000 out of pocket!!!  The same procedure in the Middle East (Amman, Jordan to be exact) would cost $375.  A roundtrip ticket to Amman is appx $1,650.  WOW!  NOT COOL USA!!! NOT COOL!

Meanwhile, I was starting to get sick!

While I was laid up in bed coughing and not feeling my best, and making a health plan for my "cold" questions danced through my mind about what to do about my dental issue.  In between naps direction came.  Many times in the form of more questions (which I posed to my learned friends, looked up in my natural health reference books and on the internet).

All of a sudden today I woke up and realized I had already begun to fight.  Not to change the system, but to find natural, affordable, simple solutions to health care issues that everyday people could employ for themselves either as a solely holistic plan or a blended (allopathic/ holistic) plan.

I've decided to try to remarkably improve my dental situation naturally, if not heal it altogether....naturally.

I pray as a thank you to God for answering my question of what it is I am meant to be doing with my life!  I pray that this journey of self exploration will be blessed with wisdom, rapid healing, safety and may even be fun.  I pray that I learn things I can share with others.   I pray that I remember that I am strong & never alone.  I pray for to remember to be thankful for and recognize the many ways in which blessings come.
